Printed on Khadi Lokta Dark Nepalese Mountain lightweight 90gsm paper, this single-layer linocut print shows the silhouette of a hanging birch tree branch.

Nepalese Washi Paper is made from the inner bark fibre of lokta and argeli plants that grow in the high altitude forests of the Himalayan foothills. Lokta (daphne bholua) grows above 3000 metres and produces a strong durable paper. The fibres are a renewable resource; plants are cropped above ground level and re-grow from the radial root allowing harvesting every 3 to 4 years.

It's an original linocut print, using one block of lino and a layer of Paynes Grey Lawrence oil based ink to produce the final image. They are handmade from start to finish - hand carved, inked and handprinted, and as such they will have small variations between prints - making each print into a unique artwork.
